Approximately six miles per gallon for race driving. Fuck the environment.

Incredible for such a small engine. The cost of 100hp/liter 40 years ago. Progress.

The E90 M3's race driving MPG isn't much better than this. It's more modern but very heavy :)

That's... not bad. On track I get 8 mpg in my 2006 Cobalt, running E85. I have some friends with Corvettes, and they both only get 4 mpg. Which at Road America is one lap. One lap per gallon.

Forgot to reset mine at the beginning of the day yesterday - will have to calculate out the hour at 21 mpg on the way there.

I've seen others post a 9 MPG reading for race time

Mine read 8.6 on Saturday, and it was raining/wet for 3/4trs of the day!

Haha nice. Race efficiency at work!

Did you see the Top Gear where they test the E9X M3's fuel efficiency on the track and compare to the Prius? The Prius got worse efficiency on track.

Yes - loved that one.

I crunched the numbers - I got just over 10 mpg yesterday at the track (145 miles, with a decent about of idling, waiting for my group's turn). Figured it'd be worse than in the rain, not better. More efficient when truly spanking it with full traction!

1.8 miles per lap, 10 laps per session, 4 sessions per day = 1 incredible weekend

We sometimes do 1000 miles in a weekend on our trips to run the backroads of NW Arkansas - ha!

They are great - really need to get one on the calendar for this fall, but I'm not sure if it's going to happen... Way too much going on. Ugh.

Unacceptable.

Working, to acquire cars = good

Working so much that you can't enjoy cars = bad

Haha I know. It's a delicate balance. Need money for cars. But need time to drive them.
